Gabriela Fuentealba

Gabriela is an associate lawyer at Langevin Morris Smith LLP. She practices primarily in the areas of criminal defence litigation, family law, and child protection law.

Gabriela is a graduate of the common law program at the University of Ottawa Faculty of law and was called to the bar in Ontario in June 2014. Prior to attending law school, Gabriela received a Bachelor of Arts in political studies in the international relations stream from the University of Saskatchewan with high honours.

Gabriela has a keen interest in social justice issues and during her undergraduate career she volunteered and worked with Oxfam Canada, an international development agency. She also worked for the Saskatchewan Council for International Cooperation as a Youth Liaison, engaging youth in international development issues. Her commitment to social justice and equality permeates her practice.

During her last two years at law school, Gabriela worked at University Faculty of Law as a course tutor for one of the first year criminal law and procedure courses, where she held weekly tutorials. Gabriela also worked with the Ottawa Innocence Project during her final year of law school. Together with her student colleagues, she reviewed client files for potential application for ministerial review. After articling with a criminal defence firm in Ottawa, Gabriela joined Langevin Morris Smith.
